Pang Jiun Hong Kong Solo Exhibition 2018

龐均香港個展 2018

Exhibition Period: 10 July- 31 July 2018

Exhibition Venue: The Rotunda, Exchange Square; the footbridge from LANDMARK ALEXANDRA to LANDMARK ATRIUM.

“The Journey of a Promise – Oil Paintings by Pang Jiun”, an exhibition showcasing the creative process over the last 60 years of a man considered to be one of the great masters of a Chinese oil painting. Pang has long been hailed as the Qi Baishi of oil painting. Employing a style that recalls both Fauvism and the poetic feeling of Chinese ink painting, Pang uses tones of grey to depict misty scenery in his works, most of which are landscapes, still lifes and human figures.

Besides the exhibition at The Rotunda, Hong Kong Land also commissioned Pang to create new artworks for the exhibition. These paintings feature Hong Kong themes rendered in Pang’s distinctive east-meets-west artistic style, all displayed within a venue designed to reflect traditional Chinese landscaping. Visitors found themselves steeped in the scenery of a literati garden, presented with vistas streaming through classical latticework and oil paintings hanging on an array of white Chinese garden walls. In addition, to further celebrate the artist’s life-long dedication to oil painting, a 16m-long work by Mr Pang will be displayed on the footbridge from LANDMARK ALEXANDRA to LANDMARK ATRIUM.
